The Moore County Public Library receives its funding through local tax appropriations. This funding doesn't cover all that the library provides to the community. There are several ways to support your local public library. You can support the library through monetary gifts for memorial materials, We also accept monetary donations to help with the cost of programs and events. You can also donate and help the library purchase items on our Wish List.
The library happily accepts monetary donations for specific projects or programs. The library provides many programs and events for our community that encourage education and literacy. A monetary donation allows us to provide more in depth and varied programs for all ages.
The library's Wish List allows us to modernize and evolve with the changing times. We have a wish list of items that we would love to purchase for the library. These are items that we wish we had but our budget doesn't allow for. If you would like to support the library with a donation just call (931-759-7285) or come by and speak with the director or staff for more information about what is on our wish list.
The library also accepts memorials as a tribute to lost loved ones. You may come by the library and fill out an IMO (In Memory Of) form and pay with cash or check, (we do not accept credit cards). You may also download the form at the bottom of this page and mail it to us with an enclosed check, (please do not send cash through the mail). We ask for your information in order to let the next of kin know where to send a thank you note. The library will send an acknowledgement to the next of kin informing them of your donation. All attempts are made to match materials with the interest of the deceased person. If the library purchases a book, audio book or DVD for the deceased, a plaque is placed inside the cover with their name and yours. You can also request that your money go toward long lasting projects at the library such as landscaping, new furniture or any other needs the library has. All memorials are placed quarterly in Moore County News.
The library will accept used materials (books, audio books and DVDs) as a donation, provided that they are in excellent to good condition. We reserve the right to decide what condition the items are in. The library director and staff reserves the right to refuse any donation that is inappropriate or unusable (molded, water damaged or torn). The library may use these donations on our shelves if the item is needed or we will sell it in our annual booksale. All proceeds from the booksale are used for our children's programs and events. The library cannot give a monetary value to donations but will gladly give a letter stating the number of items donated.
The library board and staff are grateful for all the support our community gives to their local library.
